The 2009 Nashville CROP Hunger Walk
(Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty)

The Nashville CROP WALK is back to fight hunger and poverty in our community and around the world. Mark your calendars, the spring event is planned for April 5, 2009 and local businesses are needed as sponsors.
CROP Hunger Walks are 5-k community walk events, raising money and awareness for local and world hunger. More than 2,000 hunger walks take place around the country each year to support local food banks, pantries, and national and international relief and recover efforts like the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, on-going Gulf Coast recovery, and rehabilitation work in war-affected countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, and Serbia. CROP also supports sustainable long term development projects in the world’s poorest communities.
Twenty-five percent of the funds raised in the Nashville CROP WALK will stay in Nashville and provide support to local hunger fighting agencies. The designated agencies for 2009 include MANNA, Nashville’s Table/Second Harvest Food Bank and Luke 14:12. The other seventy-five percent will support world hunger and poverty relief through the programs of Church World Service in 80 countries.
Because 100 percent of the funds collected by participating walkers are guaranteed to go to these designated hunger agencies, business sponsorships are crucial to underwrite the cost of the event itself. Business sponsorships pay for event logistics, mailings, promotion, permits, and T-shirts.

$500-$1,499 = “Power Mile” Sponsorship and includes:

$1,500-$2,999 = “Extra Mile” Sponsorship and includes:

· Logo in print media (Scene, Tennessean)

· Advertising at event
· Name in other media advertising (TV, radio, etc.) when possible
· Ten Free T-Shirts
· Five 2008 CWS Calendars
$3,000 and beyond = “Miracle Mile” Sponsorship and includes:
· Name/Logo on T-shirt
· Logo on website
· Logo in print media (Scene, Tennessean)
· Advertising/banners at event
· Announcements at event
· Ability to sell merchandise at venue
· Exclusive advertising at a water stop
· Name in other media advertising (TV, radio, etc.) when possible
· 20 Free T-shirts
